The Story of Guck the Duck

This week I shared the story of Guck the Duck with the class. They loved it so much that they asked me to tell it at least three times each day. This morning we made a video so they can listen to it whenever they want. Enjoy!

Puzzles

We worked as a team to solve this puzzle. We looked for straight edges for the border, looked for patterns to help us, and turned pieces to figure out where they fit. It was lots of fun!

This was a great opportunity to develop problem-solving skills, cooperation and spatial awareness. Puzzles are a popular activity during play centres.

Representing Numbers to Ten

This week during discovery centres we are practicing our counting and representing numbers in different ways. Here we see that students have represented the number 6 in 7 different ways!

Pyjamas and Storytime

Cuddling up on pajama day, listening to a story read by Al Gore.

St Patrick's Day

Today we celebrated St Patrick's Day in kindergarten. As you probably already know, Thomas the Leprachaun has been visiting our classroom from time to time over the last few weeks. Today he made us Leprachaun juice and cupcakes. It was a delicious treat.
Thomas also sent us some letters, and a note to say sorry for making such a huge mess in the classroom while he was searching for his gold!

See you next year, Thomas!

100 Days at School

On February 17th we celebrated 100 Days at School. For the Kinders it marked not only 100 days at school but their first 100 days in school ever!

We enjoyed special centres celebrating 100.

The Kinders also received certificates to mark their first 100 days in school.

Happy 100 Day!
