A Halloween parade and party, treats and snacks, play centres with our families and trick-or-treating in the classroom makes for a busy day!
Thank you to all the families who sent treats and snacks and to those who were able to join us for our party!
Happy Halloween!
Monster Mix, Monster cake pops, rice crispie ghosts and...milk!
Everyone dressed up. We had witches and princesses, ninjas and a super hero. Elsa made an appearance along with a doctor, the mad hatter and an angry bird.

Meet My Monster

In the spirit of Halloween we created monsters this week. Each monster is unique, complete with individual names and hobbies. We spent some time today writing about our monsters and will complete our Meet My Monster book tomorrow. When it is finished we will share it on our blog. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at some of our monsters. Enjoy!

Halloween Party!

Dear Parents,

We will have a Halloween party and parade on Friday morning at 10:45. Children are encouraged to dress up for the entire morning as we will be taking pictures of our costumes for a special Halloween book. We will also have special Halloween math stations to enjoy with our friends.
Parents and Grandparents are welcome to join us for our party. If you are planning on attending, please let me know in advance. If you would like to send a treat for the class or goody bags please ensure that it is peanut and nut free.

Have a spooktacular week,

Ms Sourisseau

p.s. I will post pictures of our party and Halloween activities on our blog, mskimskinders.blogspot.ca

Patterns and Sorting

Today we learned about sorting and made patterns in different ways. We used shapes, colours, buttons, bingo dabbers and beads.

We also practiced moving from one centre to another.

Show and Tell (Sharing)

We will begin a more formal show and tell next week. Since students often have things to share we will take time on Monday mornings to share stories or small items from home. Students will continue to explore the difference between questions and comments and how to form full thoughts when sharing. So far our informal sharing has gone very well, and we will continue use this opportunity to build on students' language skills in the coming months. Please allow your child to bring a toy or other special items on Monday morning's if they choose. Sharing is not required but is encouraged. Other days I ask that toys be kept at home so that they do not get lost or broken at school. Thanks for your support, Ms S p.s. Since we are at home on Monday we will share on Tuesday morning instead.
